Right now a sweet friend is in the hospital about to give birth to a baby boy. It is her first pregnancy and a tough one. She and her husband so look look forward to the birth of Christian.
When I went on facebook and saw a testimony of a young woman, pregnant at sixteen, with many family and friends telling her to abort. She made a tough, but correct choice and I loved her reply: "I feel guilty about being pregmant, and don't think I could handle the added guilt if I had an abortion." She did not think emotionally of the present, but of how she would react to that choice if she chose abortion. That kind of wisdom can only come from God and/or personal knowledge of one who had an abortion and saw the aftermath. We were not designed to be animals who can forget our children, we women were formed to have atender nurturing heart that cherishes our child. May our Lord bless this woman and use her testimony for all peoples and famiies found in this situation. May they not give into the lie from the pit of Hell, or the embarrassment of this situation, but truly think ahead of what their daughter may go through in the future and what they themselves may feel when they a child that might be their grandchilds age. The choices we make today impact our future. For, "I am the sum total of the choices I make."
She listen to her conscience, not dad and others who tried to disway her. Oh, how we have beieved th lie, that is is easier to kill a baby versus go through the pregnancy and either keep or adopt out the child. Have we become so callous inthis country that life no longer holds any value and worth. It is excess baggage and so therefore just discard this person inside mom's womb. You may say, "well is not a person yet. or it can't be a baby because it is in he process of growing and if we eliminate this "piece of tissue" then the nother and her parenst and/or boyfriend can rest in piece." Really!!!?
Although it may be true, that some females seem to be cold hearted, chose to buy into the lie, it is only a lump of tissue. Some, are so ashamed and feel guilty that those who chose abortion for her force her through persuasive words to abort the fetus. The term "fetus" took on popularity in the 80's. In my opinion this was a ploy from the scientific community to desensitize women into believing their compelling use of words. Accoding to the dictionary, the term "fetus;" "is an unborn mammal, in particular an unborn human more than eight weeks after conception."
I don't know about any other than myself, but a mammal id defined as "a warm-blooded vertebrate animal that has hair or fur, produces milk, and typically bears live young."
Now read what God, the creator of life says: "man was made in God's image" (Gen. 1:36); Children are a gift (Psa. 127:3); God formed: Psa. 139-13-16). Genesis also tells us that God ceated all living creatures animals, retiles, etcc..., but ONLY man was created in His image and was given "the breathe of life from God Himself."
What we read, learn, experience and believe is up to us, for they are the basis for our value system and all our choices will be derived from them. Yet, if their fiundation is based upon lies, hurt, and anger then all our decsions will be distorted because our foundation is based upon our evil flesh. The deeds of the flesh, are listed in Galatians 5:16-21. However, this was not God's desire when He created mankind. His longing was that His creation seek after Him and His ways. For the heart of God is good; the heart of the flesh is bent on evil, wickedness and selfishness.
When one comes to know Christ personally as Lord and Savior, their heart is transformed by reading and applying the Word of God to their lives, motives and attitudes. This is not just head knowledge, but heart and mind transformation. Once, the God Spirit of called and gave me faith to believe in Christ, I have never been the same. It takes time for this trasformation and it is ongoing, we never totally arrive. But, now my mind and heart are to line with His truth found in His Word. (Romans 12:1-2). I am to desire the things of God not man.
The young lady made the right choice without the assistance of her family and friends. Do you or I want to carry that guilt with us into eternity? Our influence is God given and ought to be God lead. For ALL human life is created in His Image, who of us has the right to destroy it through abortion?
Father, forgive us that we do not use our influence for righteousness; but to often to override the the consequences of our sin. May we come to you first seeking Your wisdom, the do what is right without fear.
