Moving Out of One's Comfort Zone
Ever think how Jesus must have felt when the Father chose that His Son to leave ALL He ever knew and be confined from a Spirit Being to taking on human form. Talk about leaving one's comfort zone. God moves some of us from the known to the unknown to fulfil His purpose and plan for the life He gave us. We humans whether in the Lord or not, hate change. Even if we are in a less than beneficial place. Abused women often refer to stay with the abuser rather than step out of harms way. For those women and those of us who drag our feet when the Lord is calling us away from the familiar. As I reflect on the Old and New Testament, their seems to be a theme of rooting people out and being relocated. Why? For those who are His it is to keep our eyes and hearts fixed on Him. One of my favorite accounts in scripture is hen God lead Joshua to take His people into the promised land. As you may recall, the banks of the Jordan were swollen from flooding; the priests were to carry the Ark of God through the Jordan. They were old by God that as soon as their feet ouch the waters, He will open a pathway for all who pastos through. They, the priests, did as commanded. The people were next. Joshua told them to keep their eyes on the Ark. Why? Possibly, so they would not become distracted and hence, allow fear to take over; rather being grounded in faith and trust to believe God' s Word. The beauty of this stage in my life is to have to mull over the events God uses to build His people's deeper faith in Him for their future. For some is may be going from youth pastor to possible preacher or professor. For another it may mean the promotion from living on earth to living in Heaven. Yet another, the future is still unknown, but trying to not waste her time until, what is now a question will then become known. Let us who are waiting not waste this time by fearing what's next or striving to maintain our lives course. It is His course, His plan. Let Him set our life's pace So, take this time to crawl in His lap, enjoy His presence and settle your mind and heart o His peace.
