November 2, 1940 - December 7, 2012
ALBANY - Dr. David F. Miller went to be with his Creator and Savior on December 7, 2012.
David was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 2, 1940 to Thomas and Mildred Miller. With his parents and sister Leela, they moved to Wenatchee, Washington where he went to school and graduated from Eastmont High School in 1959. In high school, he met his sweetheart, Koyce Morgan, whom he later married. They both went to Western Baptist Bible College where David would later spend over 30 years teaching and then become President of the college. David also pastored Valley Baptist Church in Perrydale for over fifteen years. The family moved to Dallas, Oregon in 1975. David coached his sons' little league teams for seven years. The family traveled together worldwide, where David had the opportunity to teach in various countries such as India, the Philippines, Korea, and Togo Africa. David and Koyce moved to California in 2000, where He pastored First Baptist of Walnut Creek for eleven years. They had the opportunity to parent again, having exchange students Jun and Jack Kim live with them for five years. Whether it was as a Bible teacher at the college, pastoring, or at home with his family, David spent his life teaching the Word of God. His desire was to see people know God's Word and know why they believed what they believed. He leaves a legacy of dedicated service to God for his family and friends to carry on. David is loved by so many and will be greatly missed by his family. David leaves behind his wife, Koyce; sons, Scott and Mike, their wives; their five grandchildren; and sister, Leela Einer.
A service will be held on Saturday the 15th at 10am at Willamette Community Church in Albany. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Albany Christian School. Online condolences for the family may be posted at www.fisherfuneralhome.com.
